The organization of the Clinical Methods section is a very innovative one. We have defined more than 1500
eH&P™ elements. An eH&P™ elements can be any H&P section, anatomical area, symptom, sign,
clinical maneuver, technique, clinical finding, etc. that may be part of the History & Physical examination.
It is easier to think about elements of the H&P just as anything that can be a part of it, any H&P entry,
all the data that conform the H&Ps. Notice that signs may also be findings, etc.
For example:
eH&P™ elements
examples
H&P section
Physical Exam (PE)
anatomical area
Heart

dyspnea
sign
heart sound 2
clinical maneuver
valsalva
clinical finding
paradoxic splitting of S2
eH&P™ elements can be 'generic' or 'specific', they may belong to the 'History'
or the 'Physical exam'. See below.
eH&P™ Element Page
Information about the eH&P™ elements can be found in the element page.
eH&P™ contains more than 1500 element pages with definitions, descriptions and information about the entries.
Also, translation to spanish and spanish sound clips are included.
See the Heart Sound 2 Page in the exhibit below.
Exhibit 6. eH&P™ Element Page .
Generic eH&P™ Elements
Notice that the eH&P™ elements can be 'generic' or 'specific'.
'Generic' elements are always in 'black color'.
They represent H&P entries that are always included in the H&Ps (like heart sound 2).
Specific elements appear in red. This innovative and unique color-coded system allows for a quick and reliable
identification of the data (entries) that are 'common to all H&Ps' (generic) and the data
that are 'specific' for a particular H&P.
See the Generic Elements
Exhibit 7. eH&P™ Generic element Info.
Heart Sound 2 (S2) is a 'generic element', part of the Heart exam, part of the Thorax exam, part of the Physical Exam.
Specific eH&P™ elements
eH&P™ elements can also be 'specific'.
'Specific' elements appear in 'red color'
in the 'basic-page' (always) and in the master-page (only when selecting the 'Print color-coded format').
They represent H&P entries that are included in the H&Ps of certain diseases, not all.
Like the paradoxic splitting of the heart sound 2 shown in the exhibit below.

See the Physical Exam Specific Elements
Exhibit 8. eH&P™ Specific element Info.
It is a 'specific element', part of the Heart exam, part of the Thorax exam, part of the Physical Exam.
